PilotPhrase ("we," "our," or "us") is built by HorizonEdge Labs Inc. We take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights when you use our mobile application ("App").
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following types of information to provide and improve the App:
Account Information:
When you create an account, we collect your email address and authentication details (including third-party sign-in via Apple or Google).
Pilot Profile Data:
Your callsign, home airport, and pilot type (e.g. Student, Private, Instrument) are stored to personalise your ATC training scenarios.
Voice Recordings and Readback Transcripts:
When you practice radio readbacks, your voice is captured by your device microphone and transcribed. Transcripts are sent to our AI grading pipeline to evaluate your ATC phraseology. Raw audio is not permanently stored after transcription.
Session and Practice Data:
We collect data about your completed scenarios, readback accuracy, consecutive wrong answers, and session history to track your progress over time.
Device and Technical Data:
We may collect device type, operating system version, and crash/error logs to maintain app stability. We do not collect precise location data.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
Deliver personalised ATC scenario simulations with your callsign and home airport.
Grade your radio readbacks against correct ATC phraseology standards.
Track and display your session progress over time.
Maintain and improve the App's features and AI grading accuracy.
Communicate with you about your account or App updates.
Process subscription payments through your app store.
We do not use your data for advertising or sell it to third parties.
3. Third-Party Services
PilotPhrase uses the following third-party services to operate:
Supabase:
Our backend database and authentication provider. Your account data and practice history are stored securely on Supabase servers.
DeepInfra / DeepSeek:
Readback transcripts are sent to DeepInfra's API (running DeepSeek models) to evaluate your ATC phraseology and generate graded feedback. Data is processed in accordance with DeepInfra's privacy and API usage policies.
Kokoro TTS / ElevenLabs:
ATC voice responses are generated via text-to-speech APIs. Only the ATC script text is sent — no user voice data is transmitted to these services.
Apple / Google Sign-In:
If you use social sign-in, your authentication is handled by Apple or Google under their respective privacy policies.
Superwall:
Used to manage subscription paywalls and in-app purchase flows.
4. Data Retention
We retain your account and session data for as long as your account is active. Raw audio recordings are not retained after transcription. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data from our systems within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
5. Data Security
We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) and secure cloud infrastructure to protect your data. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data. To exercise these rights, contact us at the email below. We will respond within 30 days.
You can delete your account at any time from within the App settings, which will initiate removal of your personal data from our systems.
7. Children's Privacy
PilotPhrase is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the App or via email. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
